The Swiss Group of Geriatric Oncology (SGOG) was established to advance care, research, and education in geriatric oncology and haematology. The group also works to increase awareness of these topics among the public and policymakers.

SGOG brings together medical oncologists, haematologists, geriatricians, and nurses, fostering a multidisciplinary approach to improving care for older adults with cancer. It works closely with the Swiss Group for Clinical Cancer Research (SAKK), particularly through the SAKK Working Group on supportive care, palliative care, and geriatric oncology.

As a recognised SIOG Country Group, SGOG actively contributes to SIOG’s global efforts in advancing geriatric oncology.
