Geneva/Tianjin 19 May 2026 – The International Society of Geriatric Oncology (SIOG) and the China Anti-Cancer Association (CACA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) establishing a framework for cooperation in oncology care for older adults.

The agreement aims to strengthen coordination, promote education, enhance scientific exchange, and support the global development of geriatric oncology. Through this partnership, SIOG and CACA will collaborate on academic activities, international congresses, expert engagement, scientific programs, and publication opportunities.

Key areas of cooperation include the mutual promotion of major events, co-hosted webinars, summits, symposia and workshops – such as the recently concluded CACA-SIOG Virtual Summit 2026 in April 30 and a planned CACA-SIOG Symposium during the 2026 China Congress of Holistic Integrative Oncology in Changsha, Hunan Province, PRC.

The MoU also encourages manuscript submissions by SIOG experts to the Holistic Integrative Oncology Journal and explores opportunities for qualified SIOG experts to join the journal’s Editorial Board. Both organizations will also explore reciprocal participation in committees, initiatives and scientific programs.

SIOG, founded in 2000, is a multidisciplinary international organization bringing together oncology, geriatrics and allied health professionals committed to improving the care of older adults with cancer. CACA is a national academic organization dedicated to cancer prevention, research, education and international cooperation in oncology.

The MoU was signed on behalf of SIOG by Professor Grant Williams, President, and Barbara Ewals, CEO, and on behalf of CACA by Professor Daiming Fan, President, and Professor Ying Wang, Vice President. The agreement is effective from 2026 to 2028, with the possibility of renewal for a further three years.
