Aziz Karaoglu


Biographical Info
Dr. Aziz Karaoglu, MD, is Professor of Medical Oncology at the Dokuz Eylul University Oncology Institute and staff phisician in Medical Oncology department in İzmir, Turkey. Dr. Karaoglu has graduated from Akdeniz University Medical Faculty in 1990. He completed his internal medicine residency in 1996. Dr. Karaoglu completed medical oncology fellowship at the Hacettepe University Oncology Institute, Department of Medical Oncology, Ankara, Turkey. He was worked as research fellow at Emory University Winship Cancer Institute, Medical Oncology Department under the mentorship of Omer Kucuk between 2010-2012. He became the founding president of the Turkish Geriatric Oncology Association in 2013. He has organized 4 geriatric oncology congresses and 3 geriatric oncology symposiums, and many geriatric oncology webinars in Turkey. He is still a member of the executive committe of the Turkish Geriatric Oncology Association. He is member of various national and international scientific organizations including SIOG. Dr. Karaoglu’s main clinical interests include breast cancer, gynaecologic malignancies, gastrointestinal cancer, and cancer in the elderly. He has published his work in a number of peer-reviewed international journals. He would like to work for care and better treatment of older cancer patients in the world and Turkey.
