Dr Kheng Soo

SIOG National Representative for Australia

Dr Kheng Soo is a Consultant Physician in Melbourne, Australia, with dual training in Geriatric Medicine and Medical Oncology (FRACP) and a PhD in Medicine. His clinical practice centres on comprehensive geriatric assessment, perioperative optimisation, cancer supportive and survivorship care, and healthy longevity. He is an active researcher in geriatric oncology, with interests in the measurement and clinical application of frailty, resilience, and patient-reported outcomes in older adults. He is currently working with the EORTC to validate the Elderly Functional Index (ELFI) and advance scalable approaches to integrate geriatric assessment into routine cancer care.

As the SIOG National Representative for Australia, Dr Soo is focused on strengthening connections across the region, sharing practical tools and implementation approaches, and supporting collaborations that translate evidence into real-world practice. Outside of work, he enjoys strength training, good coffee, and family time in Melbourne.
