Julie Berkhof, DNP, RN, FNP-BC is a Doctor of Nursing Practice whose clinical expertise, operational leadership, and commitment to evidence-based practice have made significant contributions to the nursing profession. She is passionate about implementation science, advancing the integration of nursing inquiry, evidence synthesis, and research findings into everyday clinical practice to improve patient outcomes.

As Director of Nursing for Wilmot Cancer Institute at the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York, Dr. Berkhof is dedicated to integrating geriatric screening into oncology nursing practice and advancing nursing education related to aging and cancer. Her leadership focuses on improving the quality of care for older adults with cancer while fostering innovation and excellence in nursing practice.

Dr. Berkhof’s expertise has earned her recognition as a leader in oncology nursing and implementation science, influencing nursing practice and contributing to the development and adoption of evidence-based care guidelines.

A registered nurse and Family Nurse Practitioner certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), Dr. Berkhof is particularly committed to improving cancer care in rural communities. Her work emphasizes identifying and addressing barriers to care, expanding access to high-quality oncology services, and promoting equitable health outcomes for patients across diverse populations.
