I’m an epidemiologist specialising in ageing and cancer, and I lead the Ageing, Cancer, and Disparities (ACADI) Research Unit at the Luxembourg Institute of Health, thanks to a 5-year FNR ATTRACT Fellowship. My group is working to improve cancer outcomes for older adults — we’re running the first studies in Luxembourg that span the whole cancer pathway, from diagnosis to survivorship, with a particular focus on how treatment decisions get made. We’re currently preparing our first descriptive study estimating how common frailty is among older adults with cancer in the country.

As SIOG National Representative for Luxembourg, I’ve been working to put geriatric oncology on the map here, connecting with clinicians and researchers along the way. I’m especially proud of having brought the SIOG Annual Conference to Luxembourg in 2027 — I believe it will help advocate for geriatric oncology, both at home and across the wider region.

I’ve been a SIOG member since 2019, and I currently sit on the Board of Directors (since 2024), co-chair the Nursing, Allied Health, and Scientists (NAHS) Interest Group (since 2024), and co-created and co-chair the SIOG Methods Working Group (since 2023). I’m also on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Geriatric Oncology, and have served as Lead Editor for a special issue on cancer epidemiology in the oldest old, and Guest Editor for a special issue on geriatric oncology for BMC Geriatrics.

I’m looking forward to keeping this momentum going — for better research, education, and care standards for older adults with cancer, here in Luxembourg and beyond.
