Dr Aceto is a Senior consultant anesthesiologist at the Department of Anesthesia and Intensive Care, “A. Gemelli” University Hospital Foundation in Rome (Italy). She is an alumnus of the Catholic University of Sacred Heart in Rome where she obtained her medical degree and completed her training in Anesthesia and Critical care. Paola also obtained a PhD degree in Neuroscience from the Catholic University of Sacred Heart in 2011. She is a member of the Geriatric Anesthesiology Scientific Committee of European Society of Anesthesiologists and her many research activities include the relationship between anesthesia depth monitoring and cognitive outcome in the older patients, biomarkers of memory processes under anesthesia and the relationship between surgical stress and anesthetics concentration. Paola is also part of the Editorial Board of the European Journal of Anesthesiology.
