Biographical Info
Gabor Liposits (1982) is a clinical oncologist working as a senior consultant at the Department of Oncology, Gødstrup Hospital in Denmark. He is leading the GI oncology section and the clinical research unit. He earned his medical degree from the University of Pecs in Hungary (2006) and completed his training in clinical oncology (2011). Later he became board certificated clinical oncologist in Denmark, Norway, and Sweden and worked in Nordic countries since 2012 and gained a broad experience in several types of malignancies. He earned the certification in medical oncology by the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) in 2015 and completed the SIOG Advanced Course in Treviso in 2017. Her served the Young SIOG Governance as a member from 2018 to 2023. He has been a PhD fellow at the University of Southern Denmark and investigated different aspects of palliative chemotherapy in older adults with metastatic colorectal cancer (the NORDIC9-study) and currently defended his PhD thesis. He currently serves several SIOG working groups, as the SIOG National Representative for Denmark, the ESMO Practising Oncologist and Designated Centers Working Groups, several EORTC groups, and as a founding member of the Danish Society of Geriatric Oncology. In 2024, he was appointed as associate editor of Journal of Geriatric Oncology. His areas of interest besides geriatric oncology are patient-centered care, patient-reported outcomes measures (PROMs), gastrointestinal malignancies, supportive and palliative care, and clinical research.
