SIOG 2025 Annual Conference

 “Bridging Research and Clinical Practice in Geriatric Oncology”

The SIOG 2025 Annual Conference took place in Ghent, Belgium from 20-22 November. SIOG extends its deepest appreciation to the scientific committee, our organizing partners, the speakers, participants, and all supporting sponsors for making this milestone year truly exceptional. Celebrating our 25th anniversary, the society reached unprecedented levels of registration, exhibition participation, and membership growth, a testament to the vibrant and expanding global community committed to advancing geriatric oncology.

The outstanding quality of the sessions and discussions further demonstrated how our delegates’ research continues to shape and improve clinical practice. This year’s achievements reflect not only the strength of our collective efforts but also the momentum carrying SIOG into its next quarter-century of impact.

Highlights from the conference:

  • 536 participants representing 42 countries

  • 24 scientific sessions and 3 workshops with a total of 114 talks and 28 oral abstract presentations
  • 80 speakers and chairs from 18 countries
  • 286 onsite posters in total (322 submissions from Abstract authors)

The SIOG 2025 Annual Conference, Ghent, Belgium 20/11/2025 – 22/11/2025 , has been accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®) with 14 European CME credits (ECMEC®s). Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

Through an agreement between the Union Européenne des Médecins Spécialistes and the American Medical Association, physicians may convert EACCME® credits to an equivalent number of AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Information on the process to convert EACCME® credit to AMA credit can be found at https://edhub.ama-assn.org/pages/applications.

Live educational activities, occurring outside of Canada, recognised by the UEMS-EACCME® for ECMEC®s are deemed to be Accredited Group Learning Activities (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

Information regarding the conversion of EACCME® credits
Credit will be converted based on one (1) hour of participation equalling one credit for all activities. Physicians wishing to convert EACCME® credits to AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ will be required to access the AMA website at https://edhub.amaassn.org/pages/applications to obtain the necessary paperwork and instructions. Physicians and other health care professionals will be required to pay a processing fee to the AMA.
