Rosa Liperoti (IT)

Rosa Liperoti is assistant professor of geriatrics and internal medicine at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (UCSC). She attended the Medical School at UCSC in Rome and graduated with honors on 17th of March, 1998. She was geriatric fellow at the Department of Geriatrics of the A. Gemelli University Hospital at the UCSC in the years 1998-2001. She graduated with honors on 28th of October, 2002. In the years 2001 through 2003 she attended the master in public health (MPH) program of the graduate school at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island (RI), US. The MPH program at Brown University focused on the key methodological aspects of research in public health and elements of advanced epidemiology, statistics and management of data in the field of pharmaco-epidemiology. She graduated from Brown graduate school on 26th of May, 2003. In the years 2004 through 2005 she attended the 5° advanced postgraduate course at the European Academy for Medicine of Aging (EAMA) in Sion, Switzerland and received an intense formal research training on methodological aspects of research in geriatric and geronotological medicine. She received a diploma from the EAMA on 12th of September 2005.

In the years 2001 through 2003 she was research assistant at the Center for Gerontology and Health Care Research, Department of Community Health, Brown University, Providence, RI, US. In this time, her field of research was the pharmaco-epidemiology of dementia with a special focus on the behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia and their pharmacological treatment with antipsychotics. In the years 2010 through 2013 she attended the PhD program in Geriatric and Rehabilitation Sciences at UCSC and graduated on 27th of March, 2014. Since November 2004 she is attendant geriatrician at the Department of Geriatrics, A. Gemelli University Hospital at the UCSC, rehabilitation unit and memory clinic. She is also lecturer of psychogeriatrics at the fellowship program in geriatrics, UCSC.

She is currently member of the Italian Society of Gerontology and Geriatrics, the European Academy for Medicine of Aging (EAMA), the European Alzheimer's Disease Consortium, the Italian Psychogeriatric Association, the European Union Geriatric Medicine Society. She is author of over 80 papers published in peer reviewed journals and book chapters.
