Oliver Zivanovic (USA)

I am currently on the faculty of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) and Assistant Professor of the Weill Cornell Medical College and New York Hospital.  I am the Institutional Principle Investigator for Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG) Partners and NRG Oncology and the Director of Innovative Surgical Technology at MSK. My research interests include the role of cytoreductive surgery in patients with ovarian cancer, the role of hyperthermic intraoperative chemotherapy in peritoneal surface malignancies, the development of prognostic models for patients with uterine leiomyosarcoma and patient-reported outcomes in patients undergoing gynecologic cancer surgery. I am author and co-author of multiple peer-reviewed publications in relevant journals such as Gynecologic Oncology, Cancer, and the Journal of Clinical Oncology.  I am actively involved in collaborative clinical research in patient-reported outcomes and quality of life analyses of women undergoing major surgery for gynecologic malignancies. Furthermore, I am the PI of a current IRB-approved prospective clinical protocol evaluating symptoms after ambulatory cancer surgery. My current involvement in the management of patients undergoing gynecologic cancer surgery has been recognized by the Projects in Patient-Centered Care Grant (NGA) with a Pilot and Planning Award. With this award, I was able to design the proposed research project, which was subsequently approved by the MSK IRB.
