Audisio.This webinar focused on enhancing knowledge of the epidemiology of Breast Cancer – the specific physiological, psychological, therapeutic, social and cultural issues related to Breast Cancer in older women. Jointly organised by the Harvard Global Health Catalyst , the European Society for Surgical Oncology, and Goteborg University, Sweden. The goal of Surgical Oncology Webinars education series is to equip and provide vital continuous medical education for oncology health professionals around the world and in Low- and Middle-Income countries (LMIC) particularly. This is part of the continuous medical education programming offered via the Global Oncology University (GO-U) an award-winning global oncology collaborative education platform that has emerged following needs assessment and collaboration discussions at recent summits at Harvard Medical School working with LMIC.The aim of this webinar is to show relevant data in order to help clinicians to implement a geriatric surgical oncology programme; including routine pre-operative frailty assessment, personalized minimally invasive surgery and geriatric co-management. The results of applying these strategies have been shown to be an improved, more efficient cancer care and an increase focus on patient reported outcomes including quality of life and functional recovery.
